This Is Blind Letterpress
Blind letterpress relies on pressure and shadow, not ink.
Every detail you see is created by depth alone.
Letterpress Business Cards are designed for brands that value depth, restraint, and tactile precision over color-driven decoration. At OddPlanPrint, our letterpress cards are produced exclusively using blind letterpress, meaning no colored inks are pressed into the paper. Instead, the design is deeply pressed into premium cotton stock, creating a sculptural impression that relies on shadow, depth, and negative space rather than ink.
Printed on substantial 45pt (approximately 750 gsm) cotton paper, these cards deliver a quiet yet powerful presence during face-to-face introductions. The deep, inkless impression creates clarity and legibility through pressure alone, making blind letterpress ideal for minimalist logos, refined typography, and brands that communicate confidence without visual noise. FREE worldwide shipping is included with every order.
Letterpress business cards are particularly suited for creative directors, architects, consultants, luxury service providers, boutique brands, galleries, hospitality professionals, and executives in industries such as real estate, law, finance, and design - where understatement and material quality speak louder than color.
Important:
All letterpress options offered by OddPlanPrint are blind letterpress only. We do not offer colored or inked letterpress to avoid confusion with embossing or flat ink printing. This ensures a consistent, intentional aesthetic focused purely on depth and tactility.
To maintain clarity and avoid misleading expectations, our letterpress cards are offered in the following precisely defined combinations :
(Front only) Blind Letterpress :
Blind Letterpress is a pressure-based printing method that presses the design deeply into cotton paper without ink or coating.
The design becomes visible through depth, shadow, and compressed paper structure, not through surface build-up or shine.
Best for : minimal brands, refined typography, understated luxury.
(Front only) Blind Letterpress + Black Printing :
This option combines blind letterpress pressing with flat black ink printing.
Best for : logos that need clarity without decorative effects.
(Front only) Blind Letterpress + Textured Gloss Spot :
This option combines deep letterpress pressing with a separate tactile gloss process.
Each technique remains visually distinct :
Best for : designs that need hierarchy without using emboss.
(Front only) Black Printing + Textured Gloss Spot :
A non-letterpress option focused on clarity and texture.
Best for : modern, graphic-forward layouts.
(Front) Blind Letterpress + (Back) Black Printing :
Designed for functional separation.
(Front) Black Printing + (Back) Textured Gloss Spot :
Designed to keep the front clean and the back expressive.
(And why it is not Spot UV)
Textured Gloss Spot is not spot UV.
Spot UV is a smooth coating cured under UV light, resulting in an even, glass-like surface.
Textured Gloss Spot is produced using a handcrafted process :
The result is a textured, glossy finish with visible grain and variation.

Minimum font size is 6.5pt, and minimum line weight is 0.25pt.
Vector files (AI) are required (with outlined fonts)
We primarily accept vector AI files with outlined fonts. For preview purposes, you may also upload a high-resolution PDF (vector preserved) or a 300 dpi PNG. Please ensure all placed elements are embedded.
Every order includes a professional file check and a digital proof to ensure print-ready artwork and consistent results. If an issue falls outside normal production tolerances, we will remake or offer an appropriate remedy.
It's okay if you don't have a design file. Please look at our portfolio and tell us what you want. If you look at our portfolio and tell us what you want, we will make a digital proof and show it to you.

Blind letterpress relies on pressure and shadow, not ink.
Every detail you see is created by depth alone.
Unlike spot UV, textured gloss spot is created by hand using resin powder and heat curing. This process creates visible texture and subtle variation, making every card feel intentionally crafted rather than coated.
Textured Gloss Spot is created using a hand-applied, small-batch process, not automated coating or UV curing.
We use a semi-transparent, eco-conscious ink as the base layer. While the ink is still wet, natural resin powder is carefully dusted by hand and then heat-cured to form a textured surface. This method allows the material itself to build character - resulting in subtle height, organic grain, and visible variation that cannot be replicated by machine-coated finishes.
Because this process relies on manual application rather than plastic-based coatings, each piece develops its own tactile personality. The finish is intentionally imperfect, reflecting the handcrafted nature of the technique and the material-driven approach behind it.
Key differences you can see and feel :
1. Hand-mixed, semi-transparent ink.
2. Natural resin powder applied manually.
3. Heat-cured without UV plastic coating.
4. Tactile texture with organic variation.
5. No reverse-side marks or paper distortion.
This is not a glossy layer applied on top of the paper - it is a surface formed through material interaction and human control, designed for brands that value authenticity over uniformity.
Each sheet is pressed with precision to ensure sharp form and clear definition.
This process keeps typography legible, spacing controlled, and the final result suitable for professional use across industries.
"Designed to be felt before it's seen. Crafted for brands that value restraint over decoration."
Our designs are influenced by films that explore identity, control, and perception - where small details signal power, discipline, and intent.
Movies like American Psycho and Fight Club treat the business card not as stationery, but as a symbol. A test of taste. A measure of confidence. A quiet competition of precision.

Logo Design
The typography-based logo will be created without any charges.
Letterpress business cards are created by pressing a design directly into the paper using controlled pressure. Instead of relying on ink coverage or surface coatings, the design is defined by depth, spacing, and material structure.
No. All letterpress options at OddPlanPrint are blind letterpress only. We do not offer colored or inked letterpress to avoid confusion with flat printing or embossing and to maintain a consistent, material-focused aesthetic.
Blind letterpress means the design is pressed into the paper without ink or coating. The result relies on depth, shadow, and paper compression rather than color.
Because blind letterpress uses strong pressure, a faint mark may be visible on the reverse side. This is normal and expected with deep letterpress printing.
All letterpress business cards are printed on 45pt cotton paper(approximately 750 gsm). This thickness allows for clear definition and structural stability during pressing.
Letterpress typically creates deeper pressing than standard debossing, resulting in stronger shadow definition and better legibility. Debossing is usually shallower and leaves a cleaner back side.
Yes. We offer clearly defined combinations, including letterpress with black printing or textured gloss spot, as listed on the product page.
Textured Gloss Spot is a hand-applied surface finish created using semi-transparent ink, natural resin powder, and heat curing. It produces a glossy, tactile surface with visible texture and variation.
No. Spot UV is a smooth, plastic-like coating cured under UV light. Textured Gloss Spot is not UV-coated and has a textured, organic surface created through manual application.
No. Unlike embossing or heavy pressure techniques, Textured Gloss Spot does not affect the reverse side of the paper.
We aim for consistency, but some techniques - especially Textured Gloss Spot - naturally produce subtle variation, which is considered part of the finish's character.
